DUKE UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR HEALTH POLICY, LAW AND MANAGEMENT ANALYST PROGRAMMER II

The Center for Health Policy, Law and Management at Duke University is seeking a full time programmer. Requirements include at least a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience programming in SAS. Programming will be done primarily in a UNIX environment. Experience using STATA is a major advantage. Experience in merging large databases, including linking individuals to households over time, and merging geographic information to individual-level data are also important. Data bases we commonly use: HRS, AHEAD, Medicare claims, NLTCS, FARS, Medicare cost reports and provider of service files, state hospital discharge data.

The Center for Health Policy, Law and Management in the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy is a growing multidisciplinary research center with 4 faculty members and 10 project staff. Operating budget for 1999 was $2.5 million, primarily grant based. The programmer will work closely with staff to complete analyses for peer review publications and preparation of grant applications.
