Subject: vers 6.03 PC SAS files!

Help! I need to read several _old_ SAS files, which start off like "SAS 6.03 IBMPC DOS OUTDATA EXPO DATA" for data that is a dataset named expo, I think. I was told these were saved from a mainframe but it sure looks like a PC version 6.03 file.

Stat/Transfer does not support this old filetype. DBMSCOPY does not seem to support this, or at least DBMSCOPY on a unix machine wants version headers in 6.08 to 6.12 range, not 6.03. PC SAS version 6.12 does not seem to support this.

Is there any way to get SAS 6.12 on unix or PC to read this? Does anyone have an old PC SAS still running that could attempt to read my files? Or am I out of luck entirely.

regards Don
