From my experience, you will have to use the Annotate facility, as the symbol statement does not allow for data to be used in the symbols.

When setting this up, you might to the example on page 504 of the SAS/Graph Software Reference Manual, Vol 1. Make sure to use the xsys and ysys value of '2' and, for the symbol statement, set the value=NONE.

How do I replace the plot symbols (dot, star, etc.) to a variable label? I think we have to use the Annotate Facility. But I have not clearly how.
