The sender of the unsigned attachment about which I warned you all has now identified himself and there is no problem. He apologised for sending an unidentifiable mail with an attachment (he was using his new home address, not his institutional one which I would have recognised) and we can all breath easy again.

On the subject of large, odd people : has anyone any information about a French Oliva specialist (an Oliva specialist from France, not a specialist in French olives) called Marc, who travels the world looking at Oliva collections? An enormous bloke who speaks almost no English. Met him once in the Smithsonian some years ago; seemed nice enough, but no-one I know had or has ever heard of him.
