Subject:   cleaning a large database
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I am working on a problem with a very large database that was created with free form text fields. The database was not concieved for the purpose of doing analysis and few standards were enforced during its creation.

As a result some information is abreviated and some is spelled out and some fields are empty (for example instead of typing an account number in the account number field they put it into a comment field).

I am interested in researching if there is a SAS solution to this. -- William Kossack 10480 Newcombe St Westminster, CO 80021
