Subject: SAS Function Questions
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Hi,

I'm reading in a text file, (a report) and need to perform certain edit checks on it and I have a few questions:

1.) Is there a SAS function that can capitalize the first letter of a word starting a sentence?

2.) I used the SAS function COMPBL to correct spacing errors in the report. The only problem is that COMPBL leaves spaces between punctuation (i.e. periods and commas). Is there an easy way to fix this?

Thanks in Advance,

Nick
