Kosuge & Suzuki (1985) give Coralliophila rubrococcinea Melvell & Standen, 1901, from Indian Ocean to Philippines.

Jean-Rene-Constant Quoy (1790-1869) and Joseph Paul Gaimard (1795-1851) were both French naval doctors with a fondness for exploring and natural history. Singlely or together they described many molluscs from the expeditions of the Astrolabe to Australia and New Zealand and the circum-navigation of the Uranie.
