My observations are rather similar to Rusty's. I see Cooper's Hawks, not usually ID'd to age, more frequently during August than in other summer months but would not consider those to be evidence for nesting since post-breeding and migration movements are already visible then. I have considerably fewer records from late May to late July. I suspect that very few pairs of Cooper's do in fact breed somewhere in the Atlanta area but have no concrete data to back this up. I also suspect informally and with no real data that they have increased a bit in recent years.

I will be very happy to hear of any summer observations of this species, anywhere in Georgia.
