Believe it or not this *is* actually documented; ahem, ahem, albeit, burried in the Help file for The SAS System Viewer (find = register) of all places.

I've noticed Quicktime (or something else which I can't recall right now) can *steal* the .SD2 association, hence I've had need to do this very thing a few times.
