Larry,

I participated in the Okeefenokee CBC yesterday and repeated the Traders Hill route that I did last year. My kestrel numbers were higher than last year (6 or 7 this year). The most interesting change from last year was the dearth of sparrows. Last year I saw hundreds of Chipping Sparrows and good numbers of White-throats, Song, and Swamp Sparrows in my area. This year, we saw a grand total of 5 Savannah Sparrows and no other species in the same area. Chipping Sparrows are normally the count leader in terms of individuals. This year, we didn't get a single Chipping Sparrow in the count circle!
