Even so, what assurance do we have that the program that checks the program works properly? Actually I have more concern when about zipping a file, transferring it to another platform, and then later finding that the unzip program will not work on that platform on that file. Sig

pkzip on DOS has an integrity testing feature. I believe it tests a CRC checksum.
