Brooks Co., Georgia
[Late report]: a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was seen on a farm 5 mi South
of Quitman both Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 (DG).
Wilcox Co., Georgia
Last week a migrating COMMON LOON flew into a 15-ft chain-link fence at
the Abbeville Prison, and is now recuperating in a fish pond at the Ga DNR
Bowen's Mill facility (WA).
Extreme SW Georgia
5 REDHEAD ducks were seen Nov. 15 at Lake Seminole near the terminus of GA
310; a HENSLOW'S SPARROW was seen Nov. 15 near Mayhaw WMA in Miller
County, along a wet powerline right-of-way (GB fide GABO-L)
SNOW GOOSE Reports:
Nov. 11: (FL) probably thousands in many flocks over Alligator Pt.
(Franklin Co.); one flock had > 500 birds (JD).
Nov. 12: (FL) > 1,000 in Wakulla Co. (fide JD). 200 over Tall
Timbers Res. Station in N. Leon Co. (TE,TM,EW fide HH).
6 flocks, > 350 geese in 1 hour at St. Marks NWR, along
with 4 probable ROSS'S GOOSE (MC). 1 flock after dark
near Governor's Square Mall, Tallahassee (MC).
Nov. 12: (GA) 20 geese along North edge of Ichauway Plantation in
Baker Co. (LW).
Nov. 13: (FL) 50 geese over Bald Point and 65 over Carabelle, both
in Franklin Co. (GS).
Nov. 15: (GA) 7 along GA 39, Quitman County; 25 at Walter F.
George Dam. 3 along GA 39, Early County; 1 at Lake Seminole,
near Ray's Lake (GB fide GABO-L)
Nov. 17: (GA) 19 in a field 2 miles North of Ichauway Plantation,
along with 2 AMERICAN BLACK DUCK, 2 GREEN-WINGED TEAL (LW).
Lowndes Co., Georgia
2 GREAT-HORNED OWLs were heard calling Nov. 15 at Francis Lake near Lake
Park (east of I-75, Exit 2) (KA).
Taylor Co., Florida
A VERMILION FLYCATCHER was seen Nov. 10 (JA fide DH); from Perry go west
16 miles on US 98 to the entrance sign for the Hickory Mound Impoundment.
Go south on the dirt road for 8 miles, at this point the levee turns
right. Continue 1 mile to the ROAD CLOSED sign. A male has been seen
about 50 yards farther west, on the fence, around a water control

Leon Co., Florida
12 duck species were found on Nov. 13 at Springhill Rd. sewage treatment
plant, including a male BUFFLEHEAD. A male CANVASBACK was seen at
S.E. Farm/Tram Rd. treatment facility (GM).
On Nov. 15 at Black Swamp, 12+ RUSTY BLACKBIRDs were found (GM), as well
as 1-2 BREWER'S BLACKBIRDs (JC).
Suwannee Co., Florida
A female BUFFLEHEAD was seen in a manmade pond in Dowling Park (W of
Live Oak) Nov. 15 (DD).
