Position: Research Scientist Level II
Resumes due by: November 2, 1998
Annual Salary: $51,683-$63,291
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Supervising staff of the Pediatric Spectrum of HIV Disease project
(PSD) in the implementation of study goals and objectives; Responsible
for the progress of the PSD study and its scientific integrity, in
cooperation with the Principal Investigator (PI). Assisting in the
development of protocols for ancillary PSD studies and projects;
Supervising the analysis of PSD data and preparing manuscripts and
presentations in collaboration with the PI and other epidemiology
staff; Serving as the liaison to the CDC PSD administrative and
scientific staff. Responsible for preparation of annual grant
submissions to CDC.
IT IS DESIRED THAT ALL APPLICANTS HAVE:
* PhD In Epidemiology or related field
* Ability to conduct independent computer analysis using SAS analytic
software
* Two years experience conducting epidemiological or related research
* Experience supervising research assistant staff
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with
specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological,
environmental, or social science and one year of full-time experience
in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in
the appropriate field of specialization;
OR
2. A master's degree from an accredited university with specialization
in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or
social science and three years of responsible experience in the
appropriate field of specialization, including one year in a
responsible supervisory or administrative capacity;
OR
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2".
However all candidates must have a master's degree in an appropriate
field and one year of full-time experience in a responsible
supervisory, administrative, or research capacity as described in "2"
above.
