Hello All GABO-L subscribers,
With the following transcription, we are beginning to provide
transcriptions of the GA Statewide and S GA/N FL RBA transcripts to the
list with each new release of an RBA.
"We" are the following: Brad Bergstrom, compiler and transcriber, S GA/N FL
RBA; Joel Hitt, transcriber, statewide RBA; Jim Flynn, backup transcriber,
statewide RBA. Jeff Sewell remains in the role of compiler for the
statewide RBA.
This suggestion was made by Steve Holzman, discussed on this list, and
agreed to by Brad and myself at the GOS meeting over the past weekend. Jim
has also agreed to it. We are aware of the potential for some redundancy
and looping of reports, and there may be some mutations of our methodology
before we settle on a final system. Of course, we're open to any input from
any of you.
Regards to all,
Joel Hitt

A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was seen at the Cochran Shoals Unit of the

was found at the place where the path splits off the main path and goes to
the left to begin the loop trail. The bird was on the left at this
intersection.
The following reports are the main highlights of the GOS meeting on the
Georgia coast over the weekend, where 80 registrants recorded over 150
species of birds over Saturday and Sunday. A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen
at the St. Andrews Picnic Area at the south end of Jekyll Island, near the
confluence of the creek with the bay. 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were at
the South Beach of Jekyll Island on Sunday, and others were at Gould's
Inlet. 16 PEREGRINE FALCONS were counted from Little St. Simon's Island on
Saturday, and a steady flight of PEREGRINES and MERLINS entertained
observers at the South Beach on Sunday morning. There were 2 REDDISH EGRETS
at Little St. Simon's, and more at Gould's Inlet, St. Simon's Island, all
on Saturday.
