SAS also supports:

. A data step graphics interface which is more flexible for some detail work, ie mixing text and graphics.

. Also SAS/IML supports S-Plus type graph constructs.

. MAP datasets alow for geographical displays.

. Also SAS-Insight and JMP provide interactive examination of data.

For nitty-gritty graphics or if file size is critical then consider coding native postscript.
