Subject:   Data from IBM mainframe
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Hi SAS experts:

I got a data set from IBM mainframe. One of the variables has a ending letter representing a sign. I used character string to input that variable and some of the values are like:

00000174P 00000100} 00000187M 00000225J

Can somebody tell me how to convert those letters and '}' into meaningful signs? Thank you very much.
