Subject: Fitting a chi-square distribution

I have the following problem: I want to study the distribution of sample variances in different cases. I would like to know the degree of freedom of the chi-square which fits the best (fitted by maximum-likelihood). The question is: is there any procedure in SAS which can do this or at least a part of this task? (That is, to fit a chi-square distr. by ML).
