Subject: help reading the data

Dear friends:
I am facing a READING outside file problem. I use WordPad to open the
data, and the part of data looks like following:
(I do not know what meaning the little black signs in the data and SAS
printout, RETURN key or Tab key or something else)

I have read the first and second column groups data without any
problems. But when I read the third column group data starting from
PAUL S. AXXXD to MAX J. BBBBBR, SAS always give me very strange
results. Even I use following the simplest program:
FILENAME GG 'A:\TRIAL2.TXT';
DATA GAA;
INFILE GG;
INPUT PTNAME $ 1-76;
RUN;
FILENAME GG; RUN;
PROC PRINT; RUN;
Printout for above SAS program is following:
OBS PTNAME
1

If I expend the range from PTNAME from $ 1-76, the result will be look
like the different, and also very strange.
If some friends want to try and successfully read the data, would you
please send me the e-mail and tell me how to do it. I will very
appreciate your help.
George
