One thing I have heard is that wil 6.12, SI suggests that you use NT 4.0, with Service pack #3. I was trying to use proc mixed with some large data sets on my NT 4.0 (with no Service Pack) machine and TWICE SAS crashed and took my operating system with it--I had to reinstall NT before I was up an running again. This has not happened with Service PAck 3.
