Bob,

I used PROC BMDP around the same time as they had the best routines available for life table analysis and the comparison of survival curves. Of course I had the best of both worlds as I did all of my work in SAS and then just fed PROC BMDP the necessary dataset and BMDP commands to get me the only analyses that SAS lacked at the time ... speak about having your cake and eating it too.
