Subject:   SAS Help

Hi SAS-L members, I. INTRODUCTION I am doing research for my dissertation on the factors affecting the development of programs using SAS. I NEED YOUR HELP! I have devoped the spec for a simple program. I need you to 1) tell me something about your background, 2) write the short program, 3) tell me how long it took(including preparation and think time as well as coding and testing time). If possible please include the SAS code you wrote excluding jcl.

II. The PROBLEM As an auditor for a government agency, you need to determine how much money a vendor was overpaid. You consequently take a random sample of size 100 from a population of size 3217. The following are the results of the sample: Overpaid: 2205.56, 2848.50, 85.68, 2608.10,1093.90, 315.77,1021.15, 1515.29, 1001.21, 85.68, 184.29, 625.62. The other 88 are 0 as they were legitamate claims. III. REQUIREMENTS A. From the sample compute the mean, total, standard deviation, standard error, skewness, and kurtosis. Hint: try proc means B. For the population compute the estimated total overpayment = N*sample mean, precision amount= Z*standard error*population size, precision percent=precision amount/est. total overpayment, the 90% and 95% confidence limit on the total est. overpayment = estimated total overpayment +- precision amount where Z = 1-alpha/2 point of the t distribution and alpha =.10 and .05 corresponding to the 90 and 95 percent confidence limits. Hint:Z=tinv(alpha/2,99) and should be < 1.96. C. Your time to develop the code. D. Your email addess. E. The code itself excluding JCL. F. ABOUT YOU 1. Your years of software dev. 2. Your years of SAS experience 3. Years of PC experience 4. Years of SAS PC experience 5. Years of system analysis/design 6. years of database design 7. est. no of sas programs written: 0-50, 51-100,101-500,501-1000,> 1000 8. Prior experience with which modules BASE SAS, STAT, AF, Graphics, ETS, report writing, Macro facility, QC, FSP, Access, other 9. No. of other fluent programming languages 10. No. of SAS training course taken 11. No. of SAS papers written/published 12. Your education(check highest) No degree, Assoc, degree, BA/BS, MA/MS, Ph.D., subject area of highest degree.

Finally please let me offer you my sincere thanks for your help on this project. Good luck. Please respond to me privately at BKardon@Clemson.edu. Again Thanks a million.
