Ron, whilst I confess that this is almost certainly what I would do, I wonder if it is strictly correct. Shouldn't one strictly use a non-central t-test in such a situation? Just for the sake of saying it, you could obviously use PROC UNIVARIATE instead of PROC MEANS for your method.
