I'm sure we all agree with that - the only difficulty is in implementing it. I certainly don't think that 'Balkanising' SAS-L into countless sub-lists is the ideal solution.

As for the technology, I believe there are some lists out there which not only 'insist' upon subject definition, but actually allow one to set subscription options so that one only receives messages on certain topics. Are there any LISTSERV experts out there?
