Multiple Comparisons - Applications and Case Studies with SAS
A Two-day Workshop
Peter Westfall and Dror Rom
This workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn about one of the
most important and practically relevant areas of applied statistics,
which also has an enormous impact on the way researchers and reviewers
interpret multiple inferences from a given study. This area has become
increasingly popular with regulatory agencies, applied statisticians
analyzing results from medical studies, reviewers of scientific papers
and others.
Various MCP's will be discussed and applied to data from medical
studies. Attention will be focused on multiple comparisons among several
treatments, dose-response comparisons, multiple endpoints in clinical
trials, animal carcinogenicity tests, multiple comparisons of survival
distributions, multiple quality of life measures, etc. Special emphasis
will be on both the researcher's and the reviewer's perspectives.
SAS procedures, including PROC GLM, PROC MIXED, PROC MULTTEST, and a new
SAS application package, Multcomp, will be used to demonstrate different
MCP's with practical, hands-on training.
