Subject:      SAS/ETS IMF datasets

Dear SAS-L,
I hope this is the correct list for a SAS/ETS problem using the IMF datasets.
I have recently been given the International Monetary Fund datasets to look
after, which are accessed using the PROC DATATSOURCE procedure.  I am an
experienced programmer, but fairly new to SAS and I am having considerable
difficulties getting the data out with the decimal point in the right place.
It seems that the main dataset does not store the decimal point in the data,
but that this is stored in another dataset of descriptive information.
Have I got this right? or am I missing something obvious?
I think I have figured out the DOTS data because there are only two variables,
however I'm stuck with the BOPS databank where there are hundreds of variables.
Is anyone out there use the IMF datasets on a day-to-day basis?  Do you have
any sample jobs, tips, etc., you can send me.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
We are running SAS 6.09 on a UNIX box (Solaris 2.3).
