Subject: STAT questions???

Hi all, I've some Statistical questions in accordence with implemented SAS/IML programming.

1. How can a correlation coefficient of 0.45 be statistically significant with producing a correlation matrix for 10 variables and each variable within 10000 cases(row)???

2. What's the major difference between case-wise(list-wise) deletion and pair-wise missing data deletion and why a correlation matrix default method of missing data is case-wise and a t-test(fot independent samples) default method of missing data deletion is pair-wise???

Thanks in advance.
