Subject: SAS calling C

Dear SAS gurus:

I have been requested by some NICCOW's (Non Internet-Connected COWorkers) to present this question to you. [If this question has already been asked and answered on this forum, please forgive. I don't follow the forum very faithfully and only seem to approach it when I have a problem.]

How do you invoke a C program from SAS? We need to pass parameters from SAS to C and then from C to SAS. We're running on MVS and use the IBM C compiler, not SAS/C. To make matters worse, this particular application is still in SAS version 5.18! (Don't flame me ... I'm only the messenger. I've told this group a jillion times to upgrade their system to version 6, but my warnings seem to fall on deaf ears.)

Please e-mail your suggestions, solutions, etc. to kpiper@ual.com Thanks, in advance.

Kathy Piper
