Subject: Market Bulletin fundraiser for local FFA chapters
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;

[multipart/alternative]

Teachers,

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is asking that each FFA chapter consider the following opportunity. This project will help the Market Bulletin and can earn money for local FFA chapters. If you choose to participate in this project, please read the following information.

Local FFA chapters who are interested in participating are being asked to sell subscriptions to the Market Bulletin from February 1, 2012 - March 31, 2012. Proceeds from Market Bulletin subscriptions sold by FFA chapters will be shared with the chapter.

Attached is a Market Bulletin subscription form. Forms can be printed and copied by the chapter as needed. The forms have a section at the bottom where members can fill in their chapter name. Chapter name is important to ensure chapters are reimbursed correctly for subscription collections. Subscription forms must include the subscriber's name, address and phone number. Phone number is needed in the event the Bulletin staff must contact the subscriber to verify address information. Email address is requested, but not required.

Each subscription form must indicate the form of payment (cash, check, money order). This information is needed for reference by the Bulletin staff in the event a subscriber contacts the Bulletin office concerning his/her subscription payment. When taking a new subscription, please advise the subscriber to allow 4 weeks for delivery of the first issue.

Note: If a current subscriber wants to pay and renew his/her subscription, please complete the subscription form as you would a new subscription and tell the subscriber that the payment will be applied to the existing subscription and will extend the expiration date accordingly. If the Bulletin office discovers the subscription has expired, the information will be processed as a new subscription.

Subscription forms and payments can be sent to the Market Bulletin office via U.S. mail, FedEx, UPS, or delivered in person to the Georgia Department of Agriculture headquarters in Atlanta at the following address:

Market Bulletin Georgia Department of Agriculture 19 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, Room 330 Atlanta, GA 30334-4250.

Phone number for the office is 404-656-3682

To ensure timely delivery to subscribers, chapters are asked to send in subscriptions and collected funds to the Market Bulletin on a weekly basis during the fundraiser period. NOTE: Chapters are advised not to send cash through the mail. Chapters can collect cash for subscriptions and send a chapter check for the full amount of the collections to the Market Bulletin office. If the chapter sends a check to cover all cash subscriptions for the week, the check must be stapled to the batch of subscription forms or a note must be included stating which cash-paid subscriptions are covered by the check.

If necessary, cash and accompanying subscription forms can be delivered in person to the Bulletin office where a Bulletin staff member will verify the amount of cash received and provide the deliverer with a receipt. Again, we discourage the mailing of cash payments. Individual checks for subscriptions should be made payable to Market Bulletin. Please ask the check writer to write "MB subscription" on the "for" line of the check. Checks from individual subscribers must be attached (stapled) to the subscription form in the upper left corner of the form.

All subscription forms must be received in the Market Bulletin office by April 5, 2012 in order for chapters to receive their checks for proceeds from subscription sales by April 20, 2012. Subscription prices are as follows: $10/year (26 issues) for Georgia residents; $20/year (26 issues) for out-of-state subscriptions.

Participating chapters will receive 20% of the proceeds of all subscription sales to Georgia residents, i.e. $2 for every $10 subscription sold. The 20% rule will not apply to out-of-state subscriptions; proceeds from these subscriptions will be $2 rather than 20% of the subscription price. Please note each chapter will receive one check at the conclusion of the fundraising period. Chapters are encouraged to carefully document all subscription sales prior to submission to ensure accuracy.

Note: Each chapter must submit a completed W-9 form to the Market Bulletin office in order to receive a reimbursement check. Chapters are advised to include a completed W-9 form along with the first batch of subscription forms and payments sent to the Bulletin office. Please avoid delay in reimbursements by submitting your completed W-9 form promptly to the Bulletin office. The W-9 form is attached to this email.

Also, Commissioner Gary Black will attend the annual banquet (or similar event) of the FFA chapter selling the most subscriptions. Once the top-selling chapter has been determined, a representative from the Department will be in touch to schedule the Commissioner's visit.

Any questions concerning the above guidelines may by directed to Carlton Moore, Market Bulletin editor, at 404-656-3682 or Carlton.Moore@agr.georgia.gov<mailto:Carlton.Moore@agr.georgia.gov>
