FINALLY-some bird activity in the back yard. Feeding activity at the
feeders has been very slow for the past month. Apparently the birds are "shy"
and don't want to show up to get counted for Project Feeder Watch. Actually I
think the natural food supply has been abundant and more tasty than my
offerings. But this morning around 9:30 am there was a big flurry of activity
which turned out to be pleasingly colorful (orange, black, brown, blue,
rust, red, black, white, yellow, gray,& iridescent blue-black). Visitors
included male BALTIMORE ORIOLE (3-- 1 adult, 2 immatures)
HOUSE FINCH
BROWN-HEADED NUT HATCH
EASTERN BLUEBIRD
DOWNY WOODPECKER
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH
CAROLINA CHICKADEE
TUFTED TITMOUSE
BOAT-TAILED GRACKLE
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER
Hope these will show up Tuesday for my next PFW count!
