Hello Pradeep.

Do you know how you are accessing your DB2 database on the mainframe? Is it via SAS Access, and then via a defined view, or simply a SQL passthrough? It has been a while since I ahd to peek and poke at a DB2 file on the Big Iron, and my skills are a touch wrinkly on this, so I cannot immediatley answer, but I believe that part of the answer will lie in how you are retrieing the data.

Hi All,

I need to determine size of db2 database on mainframe. I tried to query on mainframe as well as using PC SAS with dictionary tables and get the file size but it would return me just zero for some reason. Mainframes doesnot show values for some fields like nvar, filesize etc.

Can anyone help me out with this problem? Is there something that can be done using command prompt like ISPF etc?

cheers, P
