Your concern is quite justified.
My consistent experience is if SAS is installed in a directory you don't
have admin rights to SAS can write temp files where it wants many many
layers deep. That can quickly fill up your hard disk with temp files in
strange places. I often process 1 or 2 4 gb files. If you use small input
files you may only have lots of temp files in strange distant places. You
should set up the config files to point to the defaults YOU want. Ron has
messages about this.

While the set up I'm describing is not with a server the rule is WITHOUT
ADMIN RIGHTS SAS DOES WHAT IT WANTS. You might try power user rights or
rights to write to the correct hard disk or maybe config to write to your
owned location.
