It looks like in your example, dots of a single size are stacked to indicate
response and the x axis of the plot is a circle. This should be doable using
annotate but if it is really simple in R, then that sounds like the way to
go. There is a chance that Rob Allison at SAS has done this but his site may
take a while to search through.

Can you point me to a sample? If we are speaking of the same general type of
plot, I have used one to show the relative concentrations of pollutants
entering a river at different points with the size of the dot indicating the
level of concentration. I used Annotate to do this.

Does anyone know if there's a way to make a circular dot plot in SAS?
These are like regular dot plots, wrapped into a circle. They are useful
with data such as time of day, or wind direction.
