I should have mentioned that last week on Little Egg Island Bar a large flock of Pelicans had just arrived and I found 6 birds from the release last summer of Gulf Coast oiled birds. It will be interesting to see if any nest here this year. They have been largely absent all winter, so it seems that they migrated south, and returned here rather than to the Gulf.
