Subject:      Fannin County - Greater White-Fronted Geese and Cackling Goose

This morning a group of birders from Fannin County led by Tom Striker
covered many spots for the Great Backyard Bird Count.
The best and most prolific was Davenport Farm Road.  There amongst
the Canada Geese were three Greater White-Fronted Geese. 
 
Across the road on the farm side and in the same location where it was seen
before was a Cackling Goose.  It stayed with one Canada Goose which
gave everybody a good size comparison.

There were also big flocks of killdeer, meadowlarks, and a few Wilson's snipe.

Directions to Davenport Farm Road in Morganton

Continue on 515 through Blue Ridge towards Blairsville.  Go past
SR60 and then Loving Road on your right.  The next right turn is
Davenport Farm Road.  It is a short straight unpaved road between
SR515 and Old SR76.
