I checked the ponds on Pine Chapel Rd this evening. The PIPING PLOVER has NOT been seen since
Monday, 8/9/10. Today, there was another male WILSON'S PHALAROPE present on the back-pond
mud bar. This is the pond that sits off the road behind the silos. There was also a FORSTER'S TERN
working the ponds which is a rare visitor to this site. Highlights:
Great Egret - 63
Little Blue Heron - 2
Osprey
Cooper's Hawk - 2
Red-tailed Hawk - 6, maybe 10
Spotted Sandpiper - 2
Solitary Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper - 5
Pectoral Sandpiper - 2
Wilson's Phalarope
Forster's Tern
Loggerhead Shrike
