no, there is no way with SAS as far as I know. PW protection is implemented only for SAS datasets, no way to protect external files. A thing you can do, is to use a standard compression utility (I'm not sure what there is under UNIX) like WinZIP which supports password protection for archives. There should be tools under UNIX you can use. Perhaps here somebody knows one? Or you send the files to a PC and do it there. If the receivers of the report don't have UNIX, that might be the best way. Gerhard
