This morning I visited the little park just northwest of downtown Statham in Barrow County. Had a surprising mix of warblers for this small patch of forest and field. From Old US 29/Atlanta Hwy west of Statham, take Dooley Town Rd about a third of a mile to the park entry, which runs right along a private driveway. The parking lot is at 33.973334°, -83.602572°.
Location: Statham Recreation Area
Observation date: 10/15/09
Notes: Birded the oaks in parking area, forest edge around big field southeast of ballfield, and a short distance down the gravel road of main forest.
