Subject: Sweetwate Creek - Sparks Reservoir
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII
Location: Sweetwater Creek State Park
Observation date: 10/2/09
Notes: I have really spent a few minutes here and there making mental notes of what I am seeing or hearing. Got a chance to do some trail work today, and now some portions of Sweetwater Creek State Park's trails will be open for the weekend, at least half of the miles anyway. Great to see a good sized flock of Blue-Winged Teal, and the Gull Sp. was a pair of Forster's Terns. One Wood Duck mixed in with the barnyard ducks by the bait shop. Actually, the Sweetwater Creek Bait shop area is a nice place to bird, very open, 200-acre lake, some nice natural areas on some of the shore line with wildflowers and mixed grass. Nothing unusual on the trails, but I do hear owls almost every evening.
