Do you really need a macro?
How about something like:
libname xlfile excel "k:\art\test.xls";
proc sql noprint;
select 'xlfile."'||trim(memname)||'"n' into :sheets
separated by ' '
where libname eq 'XLFILE'
and substr(left(reverse(memname)),1,1) eq '$'
You may not even need the part limiting the files to only those ending
with a dollar sign, but I have found that if you don't, you end up with
all of the files that were deleted in the spreadsheet as well as the ones
