A late report of notable birds on the Bartow County Loop from Saturday, 22
August. These were seen around 9 AM by Yvonne Bombardier, Katie and me at
the Riverside Dr; sod farm off 113, [DeLorme: p. 19, grid E-8].
SOLITARY SANDPIPER (1)
PECTORAL SANDPIPER (9)
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER (2)
KILLDEER (MANY)
COMMON GROUND-DOVE (2)
HORNED LARK (25)
The ground-doves were flying far away, but I had them in my scope for
awhile. The Buff-breasted Sandpipers were far to the right, closer to the
sprinkler on the right side of the field and fairly far back. The Pectorals
liked the strips of tall brown weedy stuff and flew off at one point,
returning to the same spot.
