Number 148 put in a brief appearance at the feeder this morning...a HOUSE FINCH. I'm sure most of you groaned at that delightful announcement. Although that species has become fairly common in the City of Darien over the past few years, this was the first noted in my woodsy habitat. Perhaps last night's strong SW winds blew this little female up this way. By the way, they have been seen and heard fairly frequently on Sapelo Island for two or three years.
