Subject:   inserting dates into Oracle

Hello,

I am trying to insert dates from SAS into Oracle. The dates appear as they should in SAS: 01/25/2008 formatted as MMDDYY10.

but when I insert into a date field in Oracle the dates change. I have two columns of dates, both formatted as above, the first gets changed to 1 Jan 1960 and the second becomes null. Does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with this?

thank you! Tiffany
