Subject:   Is Aequipecten muscosus also A. exasperatus?
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

It seems most everyone (except some dealers) acknowledges that Aequipecten acanthodes is a synonym of either A. muscosus or A. exasperatus. But, there does not seem to be a clear consensus as to whether A. muscosus and A. exasperatus are separate species or the latter is a synonym of the former. I sure would like to hear others' opinions. See discussion and photos at http://z14.invisionfree.com/Conchologist_Forum/index.php?showtopic=1603
