At the CCWA Huie ponds today, there are still 4 AM. BLACK DUCKS amongst a
hoard of MALLARDS and GREEN-WING TEAL on the south pond. In the same area,
are a pair of NORTHERN PINTAIL. A few HOODED MERGANSERS and a couple N.
SHOVELER were about it at that site.
The Blalock reservoir continues to host a nice assortment of ducks,
although in far smaller numbers than previously reported...most numbers are
approximate and this is just what I could see from the parking lot:
CANVASBACK-5
SCAUP-80
N. SHOVELER-45
RUDDY DUCK-80
RING-NECKED DUCK-60
HOODED MERGANSER-25
BUFFLEHEAD-25
D-C CORMORANT-40
PIED-BILLED GREBE-15
AM. COOT-30
I finally found a group of about 8 PINE SISKINS on the thistle feeder at
the Wetlands Center this morning when I arrived.
