I think you are interested in the present living species, which is
Pagodula echinata (Kiener, 1840: Fusus).
Murex carinatus Antico. Bivona, 1832 is a different species, a fossil
I think, which in the past has been misidentifieed with the actual
species. Trophon carinatus Jeffreys, 1883 may be a synonym also. The
species lives in the whole Mediterranean Sea and I personally have a
lot of specimens from the Tuscan Archipelago, Italy, North Thyrrenian
Sea, 70 - 200 mt.
