Gretchen and I stopped by Sandy Creek Nature Center this morning
(~8:15-9:15) and saw group of ~20-30 Rusty Blackbirds foraging at the edge
of the claypit ponds. The flock headed for some distant trees after a few
minutes but a few males stayed behind and we were able to observe them
flipping leaves in the water looking for breakfast.
Also a group of pine siskins calling from the treetops
plus: towhees, white-throated sparrows, ruby-crowned kinglets, brown
creeper, wood ducks, sapsucker, hermit thrush, et al. (I know I am
forgetting some)
