The EcoFocus Film Festival will be held in Athens from Oct. 23-26. http://www.ecofocusfilmfest.org/

One of the movies to be shown is Lord God Bird http://www.whitemountainfilms.com/thelordgodbird.php It tells the story about the search for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Arkansas, and was directed by George Butler who put the Governator on the map with his movie Pumping Iron back in the 70s. I saw the film earlier this year at Fernbank and it was quite good - whether you are believer or skeptic.

The tentative date and time for it's showing is Saturday 10/25/08 at 12:30pm followed by a panel discussion about the bird and the movie. Keep the date open and I'll forward more information as plans get finalized.

p.s. Just had a Cooper's Hawk catch a Mourning Dove right outside my office window. It's eating it on a stump right now. Very cool.
