I just got a brochure about the above referenced event. See below for more details http://www.eealliance.org/net/content/go.aspx?s=60146.0.121.7182

I just wrote the principal at my daughter's elementary school, and offered to sponsor a teacher to attend the workshop (it's only $80). Tim Keyes is doing some bird-related sessions, and this seems like an easy way to get some teachers fired up about getting kids outdoors. We run the risk of losing the battle over environmental protection (and the birds we all love) if kids get disconnected from nature.

I'd like to challenge GOS members and GABO-L folks to do the same. I know money's tight, so if you can't sponsor a teacher, maybe just forward the above link to your local school and encourange the school or PTA to sponsor a teacher.

Good luck, and I'll see some of you at the GOS table at the festival on Oct 9-13. (I'll be manning the table on Sat....come by and buy a duck stamp, t-shirt (at DRASTICALLY DISCOUNTED PRICES!!!!*!*!*!!*!), or pick up some of our new hummingbird feeding education cards (free - your donation welcome).
