The last couple of years have marked major strides in the coordination of bird education efforts nationally.
In 2007 there was the first national meeting of bird educators in Austin Texas.
At the International Partners in Flight meeting in McAllen in 2008 there was another working group of bird educators meeting.
Next year, Georgia will be hosting the meeting of bird educators on Jekyll Island. If you are involved in bird education you should consider attending. If you want to get active, two working groups have emerged, the (B.E.N.) Bird Education Network (which has a Listserv) and B.E.A.C. (Bird Education Alliance for Conservation).
