Subject: Rufous Hummingbird in Dawson Co

Hello all,
The adult male Rufous Hummingbird that appeared at my feeders on 12 August
2007 returned yesterday, 7 August. This bird had been banded in Acworth, GA
in December 2006. Today I used my spotting scope to read his band number
(16203), confirming that he is, indeed, the same hummingbird. He seems more
handsome than last year and is still as aggressive, guarding his favorite
feeder in the front of the house along the driveway. Anyone who missed him
last year is welcome to stop by anytime. Last year's photos are on my
website.
Later,
Georgann
